Just Like That, I am Back

 If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

What I am Making For Christmas? Part Two

For some reason this summer I became obsessed with Waldorf Dolls. If you don't know what a Waldorf Doll is Wikipedia defines them as:

A Waldorf doll (also called Steiner doll) is a form of doll used in Waldorf education. Made of wool and cotton, using techniques drawing on traditional European dollmaking, its appearance is intentionally simple in order to allow the child playing with it to improve or strengthen imagination and creativity. For instance, it has no facial expression. Its legs and arms are flexible, allowing natural postures.

Traditional Waldorf dolls are made from cotton interlock knit fabric and wool stuffing. They are often entirely natural. Typically the trademark long hair of a Waldorf doll is made of mohair or boucle. Some doll makers use alternative hair material such as wool, rayon, and cotton. The facial features of a Waldorf doll vary with the maker. Most Waldorf dolls have small suggestions of noses, their eye and mouth colors are generally varied with each doll.
I have known for a long time that I have to make C1 a Waldorf Doll for Christmas. The thing is I have never made a doll before so I had no idea where to begin.

So after much research (like three months worth) I ran into this blog post from:

I jumped on it and bought a kit. It has recently come in the mail (drool I LOVE it).



So I am pretty busy and well off to work on my doll for C1.

Those dolls are SO cute! Good luck, I can't wait to see how she turns out. :)

I have a lot of ideas but my time is running low so we'll see how far I get, haha!

For my daughter's presents, I'm planning on redoing an old kid-sized hutch into a kitchen of sorts and fancying up a cozy coupe I found from freecycle. For my sister going away to college, I'm thinking of making an Anthro-inspired ruffle duvet. For others, throw pillows, wall art, and a Kindle cover.

Hello lovely T-shirt Diary followers!  The Pink Bat Girl is here to rescue you from plain old scrap wood and boredom today with a fun Memorial Day upcycled project!  My block wood is courtesy of an old toddler bed that all of my kids used from Ikea.  The bed has been given away, however, we still had the old wood that went under the mattress.  I thought it would make some really great wood blocks!
