Just Like That, I am Back

If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

What To Do? The Linky Dilemna

I just found out this morning that McLinky, which I use for Upcycled Awesome, is going to begin to charge a monthly fee on February 7th.

The fee is rather minimal, $2 a month, but you have to pay a year in advance. Now the reasoning is legitimate (ads and donations are not cutting it), the fee is minimal, and well there is not another linky tool out there I can think of that allows you to post thumbnails for free.

My problem, and it really isn't one, is that I was hooked on the free version and darn it I hate to pay for something that I have been taking advantage of for no cost for months.

So will paying for it make me throw more linky parties? Do linky parties really make this blog? What do you think of a text link instead of the luscious pictures the linky tool thumbnail shows?

I know I will be paying, heck I don't want to lose all of my past linky party information. I just thought that I would throw this info out their to all of you to let you know.

I also included a link that just shows titles. It's pretty bland, don't you think? Anyway add the name of your blog, check out the other blogs, and share the blog love (just trying to emphasize how linkies do increase page views).

**Update - I bit the bullet and just subscribed to Linky tools for the year! Yeah for continuing the Upcycled Awesome Awesomeness!**

I'm pretty sure that I will pay it too. I like linkytools and Brent promises to have new tools coming....besides, I've been known to drop more than $24 on an impulsive thrift store purchase. Those of us attempting to make an internet living need to support each other. I see it as an investment. If a lot of people drop linky tools, that will set us apart, with the cute thumbnails, right?
Well, it seems like a reasonable price. I think the photo linkies are WAY better than the text ones. It allows you to know which ones are going to be most interesting to you.

Hey, Robin! I don't really know anything about linky tools having never hosted a party, but I just read on someone else's blog about this issue. They decided to go with inlinkz instead now, it's still free. You can read her post about it here.

inlinz is still free but it's 1.99 per month if you want to use thumbnails which I love. The one perk (aside from the whopping .01) is that you can pay month to month. I would have perfered that, but oh well.

I for one am very happy you decided to keep it going. The thumbnails do make a huge difference. And while I don't think your party 'makes' your blog, you know it's one of my favorites! Thanks for going all in for the year, you are the bestest!

I think you a very generous to splash out on OUR continued fun. It might not seem a lot of money, but it is YOUR disposable income, and we all benefit from it. That is very kind of you, to say the least.
