Just Like That, I am Back

If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

Floor Puffs from Guest Blogger Emily at Domestic Deadline

Thank You So Much Emily from Domestic Deadline for sharing the cuteness that are these floor puffs.

What made you decide to sign up for the Spring Stashbust?  I have tons of great supplies, but not enough space to store them all so they have to be used. Plus it's motivation to get some more stuff made for my etsy shop, Harper N Co.

What are your favorite Upcycling projects:

  1. Clothes for the kids and me! I've got quite a few spring sweater refashions already in the works and plans for some spring and summer dresses. I'm currently attempting to revamp my wardrobe to be more stylish but still super comfy.
  2.  Anything that is inspired by something expensive but barely costs me anything.

Any crafty earthday tips for our readers? Think outside the box and give what you already have on hand a second look before running out to buy something. Need fiber fill/stuffing? What about that ugyly peice of fleece that probably isn't going to get used, or yarn scraps. Want to organize your craft space? try cutting up boxes from the recycling bin to be the right size, or cover mis-matched boxes in fabrics that coordinate with your space. How about a custom dress form from juice bottles and toilet paper tubes?

Why do you blog? Personal motivation! I feel much more motivated to finish projects and create new things so I have something new to put on my blog. I pretend I have thousands of adoring followers who can't get through their day without a new post from me! If I don't get some of my ideas out of my head, it might explode!

What are your inspirations? I'm inspired by my children, I got back into sewing when my daughters started putting together their own outfits and drawing pictures of clothes. Thriftiness is also inspires me, I find it hard to spend money on something I can make myself. My girls are tall and skinny so most new clothes needed to be altered to fit them comfortably, I might as well have fun making something with and for them.

Anything else you want to share about yourself or your blog. I'm easily side tracked, my house is a prime example. I'd so much rather make something, do something with my kids, help a friend.... Wait, what was the question? My daughters were thrilled when I let them putty, sand and paint their doll's bunk beds on our dining room table. Life is meant to be lived, enjoy the little blessings every day!

So now join Emily as she turns a bunch of scraps from this:
