Just Like That, I am Back

If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

Six Months, Three Crafters, No New Clothes

I know I have been absent from the blogosphere for a while, but it is a new year and I am back.

First off is the No New Clothes Challenge!

I did it more as a self imposed challenge to stop buying clothes and get back to my sewing basics by making them. I wanted to get rid of all the unnecessary "bargains" I buy in haste.

I am the worst kind of shopper, an impulse buyer. I see a shirt at Target on sale for $4.00 and it is in my closet. The problem is cheap clothes are cheaply made and ill fitting. They fall apart and just end up taking valuable space in my home. My "stuff" is beginning to take over my house and I need to do something about it.

I am happy to announce that so far their are two other like-minded bloggers who are ready to accept the challenge and several more who will be shopping a little less because although they can not commit they were definitely inspired.

So lets give a round of applause to

and

Projekt K

Best of luck ladies and I can not wait to see what you do!

I would have tried but I don't sew well and I'm a hard to fit size. If I knew how to tailor I would love to do this. I'm more of a women's petite.
oh yeah, remind me if my resolution!!! Day 3.. have not been tempted yet! But I did sew a dress, just have to hem it after it hangs around for a while (seriously, so the hem is even! ok so I may be pricrastinating a little!) But if you saw my fabric stash... I have no worries about clothes!

June - I have so much stash I need to sew through!
Kathy - nothing I own fits because I have this stupid long torso and everything turns into a belly shirt. I have had two kids so no one wants to see my belly :)

I was going to do something similar! Except I was going to follow my friend at naptimediary and add some thrifting allowed in the mix. I was also thinking of going a year, what do you think? Could you make it a year?? :)

AMber - I wish I could make it a year, I don't think I have that much strength. I am a shopping addict and I totally need to change that so after the first few months, who knows maybe I will be inspired to do an entire year?
