Just Like That, I am Back

Image
If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

Hello lovely T-shirt Diary followers!  The Pink Bat Girl is here to rescue you from plain old scrap wood and boredom today with a fun Memorial Day upcycled project!  My block wood is courtesy of an old toddler bed that all of my kids used from Ikea.  The bed has been given away, however, we still had the old wood that went under the mattress.  I thought it would make some really great wood blocks! I took this old wood and my hubby's handy dandy saw and cut them into my desired lengths!.. I love power tools!  So if you would like to make some of these fun decorations here is what you need! Ingredients wood blocks scrapbook paper cut into small strips red, white and blue paint Mod Podge craft glue jewels Start by cutting your wood into blocks.  Paint the top block red, the second block white and the last block blue. When the paint it dry start Mod Podging your blocks with the scraps of scrapbook paper in a quilty kind of design. When mine were done they looked like this. Then I u

It's Upcycled Awesome time. Here is the thing as much as I love a good upcycled project I also want to include a little stashbusting magic. The more upcycled and stashbusting links the better in my opinion. Stashbusting projects are also welcome to be posted during this linky as well What is an upcycled art project? Long Sleeve Shirt to Short Sleeve T-Shirt Tutorial

Image
Sometimes I feel like I should change the name of my blog to “The Lazy Crafter” because that is so what I am. I am always looking for a short cut. It was a crazy weekend complete with a wild wedding the night before when we needed to get the family up and running to catch Thomas the Tank Engine at the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad. Only problem was my number on Thomas fan C2 did not have a short sleeve Thomas the Tank Engine shirt that fit.   Bad Momma.  So what is a slacker momma to do? Well cut the sleeves off a longer shirt of course.   Okay it’s not that easy, but pretty darn close. You will need: ·       Long sleeve shirt ·       Short sleeve shirt that fits well ·       Ruler ·       Scissors ·       Matching Thread   (Can Not Stress this one enough!) ·       Sewing Machine ·       Iron Lay your long sleeve shirt out and Place your short sleeve shirt on top and line up the arm openings. You could do one of two things here. You could guesstimate and add abou
