Just Like That, I am Back

Image
If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next.  Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place.  Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

The Last Day of Stashbusting September

Image
Can you believe it? Stashbusting September is almost over and today is your last chance to link up your Stashbusting efforts. In case you forgot everything can be linked up: -HERE- Our judges will each present their top three choices and I will round things up to make it a top ten. You, the fabulous audience, will be able to vote and the top three crafts will recieve fabulous prizes mailed out from Terracycle! So what did you think about Stashbusting September. Should we do it again? Did you obstain? Did you have fun? Here are a few things I learned: It is not wise to sign up for a cake decorating class at JoAnn fabrics during a stashbusting challenge. I mean I learned to make some great cakes, but it is just cruel and painful to have to go into that store and not buy anything. Cake Rules! I do not need to go to Goodwill every Sunday to scoop up the newest dollar deals. I only went to goodwill once this month and it was to drop things off. I am going to try to keep aw

Upcycled Awesome #16

Image
Happy Sweet Sixteen Upcycled Awesome, it seems like just yesterday you were born.  It's time for Upcycled Awesome, your green linky party dedicated to upcycled crafts and more.  As always you have until Saturday at Midnight to post your upcycled project. You guys do rock. Upcycling is taking something you already have, something rescued from a thrift store, garage sale, or even your neighbors garbage and making it into something new. For more information on upcycling check out this post . We all need a place to go to find green projects on the web so why not link yours up here and then check out other green crafty bloggers. I know I get some amazing ideas from this linky party. Pretty much anything goes. You can sew, Mod Podge, or redo furniture, as long as it is something that is redone in some way or another. Please do not link up projects made from 100% new materials. I love these products, but they really don't constitute upcycling. Other than that here are the rest of

Guest Post By Kimberly at Bugaboo, Mini, Mr & Me

Image
It's no secret I love Bugabboo, Mini, Mr & Me . Kimberly is such an amazing blogger and I love her photography. So when she said she wanted to do a guest tutorial for Stashbusting September I could not wait. Without further ado here is Kimberly's guest post: Spicin’ It Up More than once I’ve had a jar of spices land on my head. How is that possible, you ask? Because I have no spice rack, and therefore keep my spices in the teeny tiny little cupboard up above the oven. You know the one. The one that’s there because having NOTHING there would look weird, but you can’t put normal cupboards there because there’s a stove in the way, so it just ends up being these ridiculous awkward cupboards where you shove the ice cream maker you got for your wedding and never used? That one. Well, THAT’S where my spices are. I’ve lived with my spices like this for over two years. Heaven forbid we buy a spice rack. No, no, that would be too easy. I actually thought abou

Craft Show Advice - Winner

Image
The winner of one of these bad boys: As chosen by random.org #2 - Kristy Blogger Kristy said... The last craft show I did, I knew I had a winner in one product. It was something that I could custom make for people on the spot. I sold a lot more because of that little bonus. "I would totally buy this if you had it in brown." "I wish you had them in children's sizes." Then they would find out that I could make one just for them while they went around to the rest of the show, and boom, I sold another item. Of course it wasn't crazy busy at that show either, so I wasn't distracted as often. Yeah! Congratulations. Email me your adress at thetshirtdiaries@yahoo.com and I will send you out your flower pin!

All About Fall

Image
I love everything about Fall! The colors, the fun, the activities. Here is a little sneak peak into one of my favorite Fall activities. Raspberry Picking! It is perfect for the kidlets because the raspberry bushes are just the right size for them. Yum-a-licious! Okay again not a word, but once you see pictures of these beauties you will totally get it.  Daddy got in on the action. We actually ended up picking four quarts of raspberries. Yummy stuff! She just could not resist. Brother and sister bonding! I love that they love each other so darn much. Happy Fall!

Image

When did you begin creating your own DIY projects? My parents added on to our house when I was young. There were always scrap pieces of lumber lying around. I dreamed of building my own playhouse in the back yard with that wood. I used to paint and color on those scraps (and still have two of them today!) When my husband and I moved to Philadephia, we bought some unfinished furniture from IKEA, I successfully stained them (although we kept smelling gas and finally ended up calling the gas company only to find out that using an oil based stain in an unventilated area is not a good i
