Just Like That, I am Back

Image
If I said I was back, would you believe me? Blogging is complicated, and there are so many "get rich quick" blogging schemes that make it look like you are a lost cause if you are not currently earning money blogging. And why are you even blogging if you don't have multiple streams of income and entertainment. If you don't have a brand? I do have this website, but I do not have Instagram, Twitter, TikTok (you don't want to see me dance), or whatever is next. Heck, I haven't even updated this since before the pandemic. So why am I here, writing about being back and then, probably ghosting for another two years? Life has been rough. It's been painful and overwhelming. I am so thankful for you my readers, or what is left of you. I am so thankful you are reading this post. I am so thankful that you are still committed to making the world a more exciting and more sustainable place. Keep up-cycling my friends, and you never know, I might be back again with an

No New Clothes for Six Months Challenge

Image
Are you ready for an easy challenge with a big impact? It is simple, buy no new clothes for six months. Why? Because if you are like me you have more then enough clothes in your wardrobe. You have things that you have forgotten about, things that don't fit, and things that are just ugly as heck.

We shop too much in America, and for things that we just don't need. A great sale at your favorite store and you end up with a cheap shirt that just lingers. This is your chance to take back your wardrobe. Take it back and make it yours again. Let's figure out to

The End of Irish Dancing

Image
Parenting can be heartbreaking. Phoebe's first day of Irish Dancing My daughter started Irish dancing this year. I was so excited and she absolutely loves it. Every Tuesday I take my two little ones to class, I ordered some snazzy school gear, and I got some really cool presents for her teachers. We are all good right? Sadly, we weren't. See my sweet little one is just that, a sweet little one. She has a bit of an attention problem. One of the dance school founders pulled me aside and we had the "talk." I wasn't expecting it, but I wasn't surprised. She recommended we maybe take a little break until next September. Again, I wasn't surprised. I know listening is not her strong suit. I wanted to believe that she was paying good attention, I wanted to believe that as we were practicing at home she was getting it. I wanted to believe this was working out. She absolutely adores going to Irish Dancing class, but her favorite part is before cl

Blah, Blah, Blah....

Image
I have had the worst cold for the past week coupled with an IC flare up and I just don't have anything cute and crafty to post about. I can tell you that I do have a few tricks up my sleeve for 2012. I am kicking around a few ideas, one of which is a name change for this blog. Has anyone else done this? Advice, thoughts, blah, blah, blah. Please talk to me I need your help! Is a name change a good thing or a bad thing? Worth it or just another random idea I should scrub. I am also working on a line of adult upcycled clothes that I will be selling on ETSY. I just have to get a few more Christmas projects done, and then I will start growing my inventory. Thanks and don't forget to link up to Upcycled Awesome and everything else tomorrow! Warmly,

Interstitial Cyctitis, Great ?!?

Image
I have been having a bit of a slow down in blogging, I am trying, but it's hard. Since May I have felt like I have had a bladder infection. At times a full fledge UTI, at times just like I am getting one. Well it sucks, but after a few doctors, some tests, and a painful Cystoscopy Procedure the doctor finally confirmed that I do have Interstitial Cycstitis . It sucks, I will have it for the rest of my life, I have some meds, and now I am moving on. So I am going to just deal with it and probably not mention it again, but I just wanted to share so you know if I am out of touch it's an IC thing, nothing personal. Talk Soon!

Upcycled Flower Headband Tutorials (Earwarmers, Yes Please!)

Image
If you missed it I posted this lovely tutorial last Monday over at: The idea started because I need to have warm ears when I run. I also have a serious need to look cute when I run (notice the running skirt). It gets cold in Cleveland and I want to be warm and look stylish when I shop, take the kids to school, and do just about anything. So how do you look cute with a headband? Add an easy flower made of an old upcycled shirt of course. You will need: Headbands (I bough mine at JoAnn Fabrics for $1.49 each) An old satin shirt or skirt (Thrift it! You will find amazing designs, colors, and prices) Hot glue A candle Brads A sparkly button (optional) Start by cutting your repurposed satin fabric (This was an old Limited brand shirt) into six circles of varying sizes. I like to stack them on top of each other to make sure that they are truly varying in size. Not necessary, but kind of fun. You will begin to singe the edges of the reused fabric
